"Make Do, or Do Without"

The Greenlawn Centerport Historical Association will present life as it was for children during the years of the Great Depression, but with an enjoyable twist. On Saturday, June 14 from 1 to 3 pm, Moms and children with their historical dolls, will enjoy a Tea Party atmosphere of food and crafts, in addition to a guided tour of the Gardiner Farmhouse. The house will be set to display the artifacts of the 1930's: home appliances; radio programs; Depression Glass and large photos of children on the farm. They will tour the farm outbuildings and then return to the 100 year old Barn for 1930 era crafts and prizes.  All this at 900 Park Avenue, corner of Little Plains Road.

Barbara Mount, owner of Wee Creations, 67 Broadway in Greenlawn, will share stories about Kit, an American Girl Doll, and her life in the city. Call for reservations: 631-754-1180. $20 for adults; $15 for GCHA members; $5 for children (first grade and above), and dolls free.This program benefits the preservation, restoration and educational efforts of GCHA.


GCHA Launches Murder at Smith Farm Curriculum
